Software Components
SunPlus is made up of:
- SunSystems, and
- Infor Performance Management Query
SunSystems
The primary component of SunPlus is SunSystems, a commercially-developed software program used by a wide variety of companies around the world. It has two primary modules: Financials and Order Fulfillment.
Financials Module
The Financials module includes:
- General Ledger (including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payables)
- Fixed Assets
Order Fulfillment Module
Most Adventist Church organizations will not require the Order Fulfillment module; therefore, it has not been included in the Core. Special pricing has been negotiated for organizations (Food Factories, Publishing Houses, and Hospitals) that need the functionality contained only in the Order Fulfillment module.
The following Order Fulfillment modules are available (at extra cost) upon request:

Infor Performance Management - Query and Analysis
Vision Executive
enables users to conduct inquiries on SunPlus data and perform a comprehensive examination of that data using analysis tools including drilldown.
Vision XL
provides a dynamic or static link between SunPlus and Microsoft Excel, allowing information to be exported to Excel worksheets from multiple SunPlus tables. Alternatively, data can be prepared in Excel for transfer into a SunPlus database.
Vision Alert
enables conditional or unconditional processing of scheduled processes, including Vision Executive workbook extractions and the operation of SunPlus macros.
Additional Modules
While additional modules are available for purchase, they will not be adopted until a later phase of implementation, when they can be supported appropriately through the approved support process.
Financial Information
Keep in mind the following concepts as you investigate the costs of purchasing the SunPlus system:
Concurrent User Basis
All costs are on a per concurrent user basis. The software can be loaded onto several computers, but there is a limit to the number of computers that can use the software at the same time.
Example of concurrent use:
Your office has been set up with a three-user license, but the software is loaded onto five different computers. There is no problem with this setup as long as only three people use the software simultaneously. A fourth user will need to wait until one of the first three users logs out of the SunSystems software.
Purchase of Licenses
The General Conference has purchased over two thousand SunSystems licenses. These will be given to organizations listed in the SDA Yearbook. When the supply of purchased licenses has been completely distributed, there will be a charge for the software.
Other Software
You will need to acquire some software on your own locally. This includes the operating system and the MS SQL software.
Annual Maintenance and Support Fee
The General Conference has negotiated an excellent rate for the annual maintenance and support of the software. Under the contract, you will receive free upgrades of the software until the year 2015. In addition, a support structure has been established that will provide user support on a tiered basis. For more information on support, go to the Support Page.
Because the annual fee is based on the number of licenses issued to your office, you will want to make certain not to take more licenses than you can afford to purchase.
It will be relatively simple to increase the number of users if you find out that you need more; however, you will not be able to decrease the number of users. Please do not overestimate your need initially.
Optional Vision Modules
Should you choose to purchase any of the optional Vision modules discussed under Software Components, their cost will be assumed by your organization. In some cases, your Division may have chosen to provide this software for you at its expense. Please check with your Division or Union Treasurer if you are unclear on your organization's status.
You may purchase fewer licenses of Vision than the number of SunSystems licenses you have selected. We will be happy to discuss various usage levels and scenarios with you.
Please note that the annual maintenance fee for Vision is in addition to the annual maintenance fee charged for SunSystems.
